Philadelphia has a rich immigrant past, one of the best examples of this is the Italian Market. Based on the numbers of new immigrant arrivals, the City will have a rich immigrant future.
 

Immigrants  are experiencing challenging times right now throughout the United States.  This is also happening in many parts of the world. Misunderstanding of immigrants is rampant. This misunderstanding has resulted in distrust in and avoidance of immigrants. And unfortunately, in some cases,this has resulted in violence for immigrants.

There is an immediate need for honest and accurate information about immigrants.   People need to better understant who and what immigrant communities are. The Cultural Fabric of Philadelphia photo books do this. They show the cultural richness if immigrants.  They also document the  economic contributions of these communities.
 

Immigrant communities themselves also need to engage with each other.  They need to share their cultural experience.  Sharing lessons learned is a necessary and productive process. The Cultural Fabric of Philadelphia photo books can produce these results. .
